The History of Charleston SC

The first European inhabitants of Charleston, SC settled on the west bank of the Ashley River in 1670. It quickly became a booming port town and the capital of the Carolina Territory. Charleston was subject to attacks of many kinds from countries France and Spain, native americans, and the occasional pirate attack!
